Once I was a copy editor

by Jess

I just returned home from three days in northwestern Pennsylvania — the hinterlands, some call it.  It’s a gorgeous land of rolling hills and small dairy farms and blue collar, salt-of-the-earth type folks.

Anyway, I read an article today that almost made me nostalgic for my days as a harried copy editor at the local paper.  Let’s just say I loved the work, but I didn’t so much love the job.  The article is by Lori Fradkin.  Even if you’re not all that into grammar and em dashes and such, it’s a fun read.
